How to view your X (Twitter) archive
- Request and download your archive from X. Follow our step-by-step guide.
- Drop the downloaded
.zipfile above (no need to unzip). If you already extracted it, selectdata/tweets.jsand anytweets-partN.jsfiles. - Browse your stats, search and filter the table, then export the matching tweets to CSV for Excel or Google Sheets.
The built-in viewer that ships with the archive (Your archive.html) is slow with big archives and has no CSV export. This tool reads only the tweet data files, so it works with multi-gigabyte archives full of photos and videos — and nothing is ever uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
Is my X archive uploaded to a server?
+
No. The archive is opened and parsed entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device, there is no backend, no account and no email required. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads.
Which file should I select?
+
Select the .zip file you downloaded from X. If you already extracted it, select data/tweets.js (older archives call it tweet.js). Large archives are split into tweets.js, tweets-part1.js, tweets-part2.js and so on; select all of them at once.
My archive is several gigabytes. Will it work?
+
Yes. The viewer only reads the small tweet data files from inside the ZIP and skips photos and videos, so even very large archives open quickly. Parsing runs in a background worker so the page stays responsive with tens of thousands of tweets.
How do I get my X archive?
+
Request it from your X account settings (look for the option to download an archive of your data). X usually takes a day or more to prepare it. See our step-by-step guide on how to download your X archive.
Can I export my tweets to Excel?
+
Yes. Filter the table if you like, then click "Export CSV". The file is UTF-8 with a BOM so Excel and Google Sheets display emoji and non-Latin text correctly.
Can I export tweets from an account that is not mine?
+
The X archive only contains your own account data. To export tweets, likes or followers of any public account without waiting for an archive, use the TwExportly Chrome extension.
